Chosing a heat pump can be an extremely difficult decision.  The cost of the units are so expensive so we finally came to to the conclusion that a  Trane xl16i heat pump was our best choice!  Living in North Carolina and having a relatively large house we wanted a bigger more efficient heat pump.  Good news is that we  were also able to capitalize on the energy tax rebate to help with the overall cost of the system.  Inearly november, we got our final price quote, and decided on the Trane xl16i heat pump system shown below. Our Home Information

We live in the research Durham area and the climate changes can be extreme! Our home is a two story 2750 square foot home with traditional shingle roof.

Our old system finally gave out – it was an old Bryant system that rarely seemed to work on colder nights. The previous owner took good care of it, and it has lasted for another 6 years for us.
