• Lennox Elite Series G60 Gas Furnace Price

The Lennox Elite Series G60 Gas Furnace is a very solid standard efficiency furnace from a proven manufacturer.  It features good performance features and competitive pricing as you see from the Lennox Elite Series G60 gas furnace price shared by Jim in Mobile, Alabama.  We’ve added it to our database of HVAC prices to share on the site.

“We put the finishing touches on our nearby lake cottage last spring, doing much of the work ourselves.  I did heed the advice often given on your site to use a professional contractor to install the furnace.  But where I went wrong was choosing the cheapest outfit to do it without checking references.  While they were licensed they certainly were not professional.  These guys, Clem and his brother Clem if you know what I mean, run an HVAC business out of their garage, but in rural ‘Bama that sort of thing isn’t uncommon.  They were $750 less on their install price so we – or I should say “I” since my wife had reservations about these boys – gave them the job.

Their Bid: Lennox Elite Series G60 66,000 Btu furnace, $939.  Installation, $1,200.

    Bid #2: Lennox Elite Series G60 66,000 Btu furnace, $959.  Installation, $1,750.

They managed to remove the old furnace, but not without breaking a basement window when removing the vent.  “Sorry man, [stuff] happens” said Bobby.  About an hour later they started arguing about why Alabama football is down this year, with more choice language.  Then they went to lunch.   About an hour later my wife came back and said she saw their truck at the local bar.  Now, it does serve a great burger so I gave them the benefit of the doubt.  When they showed up an hour later there was no doubt, however.  I told them to come back sober the next day and get it done or they were done.   By about 4 p.m. they had the furnace installed and running, sort of.  They said they couldn’t get the burn correct, but worked for awhile longer before calling it a day.  “Give us until noon tomorrow, man, and we’ll be done.”

On day three they didn’t show up until 10:30 saying they had called Lennox to get some information on the thermostat and gas pressure.  A few hours later and no heat I basically fired them.  I paid them for the furnace and told them if they wanted more they could sue me for it.  Meanwhile my wife had called her brother who is on the county sheriff department and he conveniently “dropped by to say hi” while I was showing these guys the door.

I contacted the other contractor and he willingly took the job.  I paid him the full installation price because he unhooked everything and started over.  Thankfully no damage was done to the unit as far as we can tell and it works really well.  When it comes to installation, price isn’t everything.  Far from it!”

Isn’t that the truth, Jim?  Have a pro do it every time so you can enjoy the full benefits of your furnace.  With the Lennox Elite Series G60 gas furnace these include:

80% AFUE for very reasonable fuel usage.

2-stage heating produces quieter operation and fewer temperature swings.

Dual fuel capable so it can be paired with a heat pump for a/c and alternate heating.

ArmorTuf heat exchanger is proven to produce reliability, durability and efficient performance.

20-year limited warranty on the heat exchanger; 5-year warranty on covered parts.

Remember that being a qualified contractor involves more than a piece of paper that says you passed a class and a test.  It involves experience, professionalism and competence.  Do your homework on possible contractors and get the assurance your unit is installed properly and that it will deliver peak operation for years to come.
