I live in Michigan and we dont have central ac in our house. Our heater quit in April and we were broke (we still are) and couldnt afford a new gas furnace at the time. I talked to a friend who recommended we look into the Goodman gmv95 furnace on eBay, and we did. I bought the furnace in July, and I installed it with my brother in one day, following the guide and video that was given to us with the furnace.

My Advice for DIY’ers

I am a heavy equipment operator who is very handy with tools and I had help on my installation from a full time auto mechanic, and we kinda hands full on this thing! The only reason we bought this furnace on eBay was to save money and I’m not going to say it was hard, because mechanical is mechanical right? The hardest things we had trouble with, were the technical things like water column, gas pressures, etc. I mean.. you are literally playing with fire and your family’s safety.

I had the system inspected by another friend who is an HVAC tech, and he gave me an A+ on the install.
