The Massachusetts visitor who submitted the gas furnace price, also has a central air conditioning system that is less than 5 years old. Originally, they put in the cooling system in 2006 and at that time, they did not have to replace the furnace at the time as it was working fine.

Carrier Performance 93 Gas Furnace

Hi – We found your site when looking for an approximate cost of a carrier high efficiency furnace. The information helped us in our decision making, so we vowed to come back and share our experience.

Carrier Furnace Installation Details

  • Carrier 58MTB Performance Gas Furnace (Model 58MTB080-12)
  • New exhaust system for furnace (white plastic pipes)
  • (Already have a 3-ton air conditioner)
  • New System Pan and Thermostat
  • Installation took 2 guys, 7 hours.

About our Home

Our house is actually a 1420 square foot drafty old Victorian home. The gas furnace is located in basement and we used to have oil heat that was converted in the mid 90′s, when we had this heater installed. The gentleman installing the new furnace used plastic pipes to vent this furnace, versus the round chimney looking pipes we had with the old system!

Overall, I think we had 2 separate visits from the company who handled the installation. The first visit was due to the blower not working on the air conditioner! It turned out to be a bad blower motor but during the repair they found huge cracks in the heating element of the old system, and we decided to get it replaced while they are here.
